【SSW】演出家植田景子が語る月組公演『舞音』の魅力 Part.2

舞音

もう一人のシャルル役の美弥るりかについて

今回もちろんラブ・ストーリーなんですけども、主役のシャルルにフォーカスした時に、彼が本当に生きたい自分、自分の本当の心に向かっていきたい。だけど理性ではそうはできない部分の葛藤っていう部分にフォーカスしたくって。それで内面的な部分っていうのを映し出してくれる鏡であり、本当の心が自分を導いてくれるっていう存在として、抽象的な存在なんですけども、もう１人のシャルルっていう役があることで、作品的にもシャルルのドラマ的にも深みが出ると思って、この役を作りました。

実際それを演じる美弥るりかにとっては、非常に難しい役だし、チャレンジだと思うんですね。敢えて説明的なものを一切排して台詞とか説明的なものを全部排して、あとは見るお客様のイメージで、いかようにも膨らませられるし、本人にもいかようにも色んな色に見えるっていう役にしようと思いまして、最後に一言だけ台詞を言うんですけども、敢えてそこまで自由な役にしておくことで、最後のテーマ性が大きくなると思って、この役を作ったんです。

逆にこれは今の美弥るりかだからこそ、私も敢えて彼女なら非常に高いハードルを魅力的にかつちゃんと意味とか主題を交えて、造形してくれると思って敢えてチャレンジしたんですけど、非常に頭の良い子ですし、感性も良い子なので、そこを本当に説明ではないところで心情的な部分を本当に自分の心の中から引き出して、今回の役を演じてくれてると思います。

クオン役の珠城りょうについて

原作のレスコーとかは、本当にお金のためならマノンも利用するっていう悪役なんですけども、でも、それもある意味本当にリアルな生き方で、クオンの言ってる台詞っていうのもただ悪役の台詞じゃなくて、クオンがあのように生きてきた中で、フランス人の下にしかいることができず、でも自分は非常に優秀な人間っていうのも分かってるプライドもあって、男としてのプライド、力を得たいとか人の上に立ちたいとかっていう野望とか欲望っていうのがあって。

その時にどう生きていくかっていうと、あれほどクオンの言っている『綺麗事じゃ生きていけない。愛なんていうものは、結局目に見えないし、そんなことじゃ生きていけない』っていうのは、ある意味とってもリアルな台詞なんですよね。そこの悪役なんだけども、そこにリアリティがちゃんと見えることで、その役の存在の大きさっていうのが見えればいいなというのがクオンの役のコンセプトです。

やっぱり学年的に若くて、キャリア的なものの積み重ねとか、今までお芝居を自分が１つの役に向かって自分で掘り下げてリアリティーを自分の中に感じて、１つの役を作り上げるっていう、そういう経験がまだあまりした事がないのかなっていうのが、正直私から見て感じたことで、本人はそれは自分も自覚をしていて、台本の奥にあるもの。その役のバックボーンっていうものも自分で作っていかないと、当たり前だけどそこから台詞が出てきて、自分の台詞じゃない部分も全部その役として存在した時に、初めて１つの役になるんだよっていうところが、なかなかそこまでは自分では作りきれないっていうもどかしさと葛藤の中に本人もずっといて。

それをテク二カルな部分と心情的な部分を本当に時間をかけて、クオンという役をやったことについて沢山話をしたり、色んな風に芝居をトライしてやってみようというのを稽古場でやったり、そういうことをかなりやりました。その中で珠城自身も１個１個頭を打ちながらそれに向かっていこうと頑張ってくれているっていう感じです。

月組生について

みんなもちろん向上心を持ってさらに良くしようと取り組んでくれていて、あとは月組全体の最後の群衆のシーンとかもあるんですけど、やっぱりそれぞれにそれぞれの作品の中のパートの役割があって、そのどのパートも良くなっていって全体的に濃くなると思うんですよね。

それを本当に個人プレーではなくって、今回どちらかというとお芝居メインの作品なので、歌とかダンスで、例えばこのダンスを振り固めしっかりやりましょうとか、それで作っていく作品ではなくて、本当に１人１人がちゃんと緻密に役とか芝居を作らないといけない作品なので。月組のみんなは非常に芝居心もあって研究熱心で、それを非常に遣り甲斐をもってやってくれているので、本当に１人１人の役、でそれに絡む人たちのパートパートの場面っていうのが、濃密になっていくことで作品全体がもっと濃くなるように月組のチームワーク的なものが上がってくれるといいなと思っています。

東京宝塚劇場公演に向けて

やっぱり宝塚の初日が開けてからだんだんだんだん日が経っていて、その中で熟成されていったり、芝居が変わっていったりしていく内に、気がついて良くなっていく場面もあれば、やっぱり時期によっては散漫になることもあって。やっぱり生き物なので、ライブなので、そうやってやっぱり変わっていくものだと思うんですよね。

それが、私は演出家として何年かやってきて、やっぱり東京に行って東京で新しいお客様が入って、やっぱり宝塚を１回終えて、東京で『さあ！更にどうするぞ！』っていう高いモチベーションの中で東京に向かって取り組んで、で東京の最後ぐらいにやっぱり一番熟成されたものになっていく。逆にそうじゃなきゃダメだと思うんですよね。ライブで毎日やっている訳だから。もちろん最初に見て頂いたお客様にも満足できるものにしなきゃいけないけど、でも１日１日１回１回回を重ねて行くごとにやっぱり成長していかないと、ライブ・パフォーマンスアーツの意味がないと思うし、その変化っていうのがあるのがライブの良さ、毎回決まったものじゃないし、成長していけるっていうのが舞台の良さだと思うんです。

で、宝塚に関してはまだみんなが手探りしながら色々な可能性とか、更に良くするためにはというのを模索している感じだったと思うんです。東京に向けて、私ももう１度根底にかえって先程お話したような、マノンっていう人からシャルルが何を受け取ったかとか、マノンっていう人は本質的にどういう人だから、愛されているのかとか、クオンという役のやっぱりクオンがリアリティを持たせることで、マノンっていう役も見えてくるし、それがシャルルのプレッシャーにもなるので。

そういったドラマの根底の人間関係の部分がより深く、よりしっかり作って、それがお客様にもしっかりと見えるようにしていくことで、ドラマをもっと深めたいなと思っております。

メッセージ

今回外部のスタッフの方にも沢山参加していただきまして、ニューヨーク在住の作曲家のジョイ・ソンという女性作曲家の方なんですが、非常に新鮮でドラマティックな音楽を書いて頂いたと思っております。衣装・装置・振付も今回はいつもの宝塚とは少し雰囲気の違う舞台に仕上がってるかと思うんですけども、やはり色々チャレンジ・トライしていくことは大切だと思うので、今回は非常に優れたスタッフの方々に宝塚のお仕事をして頂けて、お客様にもまた違った新鮮な美意識を見て頂ける舞台になっているのではないかと思っております。

月組の生徒１人１人の魅力とマノンの愛のドラマを皆様の心に残る作品になればと思って、一同頑張っておりますので、東京公演是非皆さん足をお運びください。お待ちしております。
